Auschwitz and Srebrenica: Lessons of our common humanity

As part of its ongoing project on confronting anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, for the second year the Foundation held its special project for 15-16 year old students at London East Academy, Whitechapel. 60 students as well as faculty members attended the project.

Rabbi David Lister, senior Orthodox rabbi and member of the foundation’s national Council of Imams & Rabbis spoke about some similarities between Judaism and Islam. It was followed by an in depth Q & A.

Mehri Niknam gave a power point presentation about the similarities of the outlook which led to both genocides. This was followed by extensive workshops on the topic and how to combat Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia

The project was very well received by the teachers and the students who said they found the project positive and helpful because they had learnt much from it. It was decided that further projects will follow.

Cooperation between the foundation and the school is ongoing.
